Ceci & Austin's Downtown Seattle Courthouse Wedding
Who says a courthouse wedding can't be a little romantic adventure?
Ceci and Austin certainly made theirs one! From a beautiful first look at Lotte Hotel Seattle to family portraits among downtown's towering buildings, a rooftop ceremony, and one last stop at Seattle City Hall, their wedding was a wonderful reminder that you don't need a grand celebration to create a day filled with beautiful memories.
And honestly, there is something I really love about weddings like this. The city becomes part of the story, with little moments of love and laughter happening right in the middle of everyday life.
A Beautiful First Look at Lotte Hotel Seattle
Our afternoon began at Lotte Hotel Seattle, where I spent a little time photographing Austin getting ready before heading to the ballroom for one of my favorite wedding moments: the first look.
I love that anticipation. Knowing you're about to see the person you're marrying, dressed for one of the most meaningful days of your lives. There is something so sweet about having that moment together before everything else begins.
And what a lovely setting for it! The elegance of the ballroom brought its own beautiful character to their photographs, giving us a wonderful beginning to our little Seattle adventure.
A Little Romance Around Columbia Center
From the hotel, we made our way toward Columbia Center for some couple and family portraits.
This is one of the things I love about photographing weddings in downtown Seattle. Beautiful architecture is everywhere, and even a short walk can give you so many interesting places to photograph.
I especially love the contrast between the grand scale of the buildings and the simple tenderness of two people together. A little smile, a shared laugh, a hand reaching for another. Sometimes it's those small things that make a photograph worth holding onto.
And of course, having family there to share in the excitement made this part of the day even more meaningful.
Saying "I Do" Above the Streets of Seattle
Then came the moment everyone had been looking forward to.
High above the busy streets, Ceci and Austin exchanged their vows at Seattle Municipal Court, with the city surrounding them and their loved ones there to witness it.
There is something wonderfully intimate about a courthouse wedding. Without all the elaborate traditions and long schedules, your attention naturally turns to the people and the moment itself.
Two people choosing each other. A few happy faces looking on. The excitement of finally being married.
And there they were, beginning their next chapter together, right above the city.
One Last Stop at Seattle City Hall
Our adventure wasn't quite over yet!
After the ceremony, we made one final stop outside Seattle City Hall for a few more portraits. Only now, something had changed. Ceci and Austin weren't waiting to get married anymore. They were husband and wife!
I love this part of a wedding day. The anticipation gives way to a different kind of happiness, and those first portraits as newlyweds become another wonderful little piece of the story.
Ceci and Austin, thank you for letting me follow along on your beautiful downtown Seattle adventure. From the excitement of your first look to those final moments outside City Hall, it was such a pleasure capturing the beginning of this new chapter.
Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and many more adventures together! ❤️
