Discovery Park is easily one of my favorite places in Seattle for engagement photos. There’s so much variety there, which makes it such an amazing location for couples sessions. From the open bluff views and tall grassy fields to the forest trails and beach with the lighthouse, it has some of the best scenery around. On a clear day, you can sometimes even catch Mount Rainier in the distance, which makes it feel even more special.
We started out in the field, where the tall grass gave everything a relaxed and playful feel. It’s one of those spots that makes movement feel easy and natural, which is perfect for portraits. After that, we made our way to the overlook for some wide scenic views. Then, as the light started getting softer, we headed down to the meadows right around golden hour. That light down there can be so beautiful, and it gave the whole session a soft, romantic atmosphere.
Discovery Park is one of those places I never get tired of photographing. Every time I’m there, it feels a little different, and I always look forward to going back. If you’re trying to find a beautiful place in Seattle for engagement photos, this is definitely one I’d recommend. Seattle has a lot of great parks, but Discovery Park really stands out for the variety and natural beauty it offers.
